August - the beginning of the end of summer. So crazy to think how fast time has flown by this summer and how much I feel like my kiddos changed/grew this summer. Time flies!!
This week, Jimmy starts his football season (it's camp this week, so it's 4th-8th grades every night - will not be every night this fall thank goodness!). He's excited and I'm pretty pumped for him as well. He will be helping to coach an 8th grade boy's football team at a nearby Catholic school. Pretty much this is Jimmy's dream come true, so when the opportunity came up, I couldn't say no because I knew A) he would be SO good at it and B) he will have a great time! But with that said, I am going to get the understanding of "football widow" this fall with his practices being several nights a week from 6-8 and then games at some point on Saturdays. Lots of alone time with me and my kiddos and I'm going to try my best to make the most of it.
If we eat an early dinner (like 5:15...so probably not), Jimmy could join us, but we likely won't do that - so easy dinner plans for me and my kids (mainly because they are not picky). Just for organization's sake, I'm going to link up again with Colleen from Meet the Sullivan's.

(PS did you know that Hy-Vee has an AWESOME room and freezer meal prep - seriously!)
On another notes - our Hy-Vee just started offering online grocery shopping with pick up or delivery for a small fee (pick up is $3 and delivery is $5 - I'm sorry WHAT? SO worth it to not have to drag my kiddos in there! I'm trying it this week and will let you know what I think!

Happy Monday!
I'm excited to see what August has to bring. I started a new "routine" for myself in hopes to get a sliver of me time in the mornings and read a new devotional too. And I'm going to our trainer at work for the first time this week - excited to see how that goes!!
And this is my birthday month - turning the big 3-0 at the end of August!!!

This is so great about jimmys coaching!! Just like. Friday night lights. You'd make a great coach Taylor
ReplyDeleteCarli - only one day of camp this week (rained out yesterday) and he came home just RAVING about it. He's so excited!!! It should be interesting - he's convincing me all the time away from our family is worth it because it might set off his coaching career - hahaha!
DeleteWhat a fun opportunity for your husband! At least football is only for a season, right? I love using the grocery delivery, although ours is $12, it's worth it when we have a busy week. We're having stir-fry this week too! Thank you so much for linking up!
ReplyDeleteThis is really a wonderful post.
