Post pub crawl and new year's eve

All right, so follow up to the pub crawl post and final Florida vacation post (sorry, there were jut too many pictures that I took, so if you made it to this post....you rock. If you are sick of reading about our trip, just skip it! I understand!!).

But this is what we did all day long. Sat on the couch. We weren't even awake until my parents got back around noon...

I did some of this, which was catching up on everything that I want to do in real life but don't have time for. I was in heaven!

The boys thought it was warm enough to get in the hot tub, but the girls did not.

We were able to enjoy some fireworks for the Outback bowl that was in Tampa on 1/1...from our condo! So that was fun and good because no one was in the shape to leave. My dad cooked some burgers, so literally I didn't leave or get dressed all day.

Hence why you see me wearing the same outfit bright and early on New Year's Eve morning :) But what a great way to spend New Year's Eve morning. Headache-free, a cup of coffee with my fancy husband, and a beautiful sunrise with a great view!!

It was even nice enough outside to sit on the beach, so Jimmy and I rented a little hut thing and chairs and sat on the beach! I didn't put my swimsuit on, but Jimmy took his shirt off. Got a little sunburned, or a lot, but it was still nice to sit outside on a beautiful beach!

We met up with my parents and sister for lunch at Frenchy's on the beach where I enjoyed some delicious crap soup. YUM!

To get the evening started off right, Jimmy, my dad and I headed down to the beach to watch the sunset. And it was literally the most perfect sunset I have ever seen in my life!!

We then headed out for our final dinner out in Clearwater Beach, which was at Crabby Bill's (but another one....on the other side of the water with a bigger menu).

The boys got a bucket of beer, but it ended not so well, but that's ok!

Final family shot of the trip!

We then headed back to the condo for an uneventful New Year's Eve because everyone was a little beat, but did make it back with a bottle of champagne. I was a little bummed because we were missing out on an amazing wedding of an amazing couple (Sarah and Josh) that was in Kansas City. I was happy to be with my family and more than excited for a wonderful trip to Florida and I know we weren't missed, but it would have been very fun to be help them celebrate their marriage!! However, we did have a good time ringing in the new year watching Ryan Seacrest and Dick Clark....oh and the Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block- hahahahaha. And my dad was sure enjoying it...

TOAST to the new year and 2011. My hair looks really weird because I was experimenting with a new curling iron...but I think now I have it finally figured it out (but not in this pic!). Can't wait for all the fun that 2011 has to bring. And a HUGE thanks to my mom and dad for taking us on such a fabulous vacation and that is was soooo much fun spending time in nicer weather and a stress-free time!

We were up early the next morning on an 8:40 flight. Even though we missed a friend's wedding on NYE, we were back in time on new year's day to celebrate an engagement!!!!

Parents gone = pub crawl in Clearwater

Yuck, just sitting here now almost a week later writing this post, I still get nauseous thinking of this day. UGH. But before I go into that, we did have LOTS of fun. My parents got up early Wednesday morning and drove to Fort Myers to visit my mom's friend and husband....so that meant...the kids get WILD. Starting with this crazy photo shoot....

So hopefully that gives you an indication of how exactly the day went. It started with these 2 cuties playing miniature golf against Jimmy and I...another competition, surprise, surprise :)

It was a rather long day because it was the first time in a few days in Clearwater that there was actually sunshine....so there were lots of people playing golf. But holy cow---I got a hole in one!!! I was so pumped!!

Here we are after the competition; Jimmy and I won, DUH. So they owed us a round of drinks at the first happy hour...yep we were off next to a happy hour pub crawl in Clearwater.

First stop = JIMMY'S FISH HOUSE!

Group shot! Yummy and expensive drinks haha, thanks Andrew!

Next stop, Frenchy's to get more drinks and you guessed it, lots of fried appetizers. Beers and fried food- that was the end of me the next day. But boy was it fun while it lasted!!

Guess what else it had!?!? Naked photo hunt and of course we dominated.

After watching the sun set, we headed next door to Crabbys....for MORE fried food and drinks. Oh jeez.

When we walked out, we saw THIS! It was a rocketship that this guy from Cleveland built. It was super cool and free! Just a tip. So of course we immediately hopped on and headed to the next bar.

So cute :)

Last stop was Mandalay Bay again. And we ran into all these people from Kansas and Missouri, so funny! A family from Derby and some girls from Columbia. So fun!!

Lots and lots of pitchers, which since we were the only people in the bar, the waitress continued to pour in our glasses. Jimmy and Andrew loved it, but I was like AH!

Yep---that's pretty much how the night ended.......

Fun days in FL

While the weather was a little cool for our liking on Monday and Tuesday....we did what our family did best : went shopping!!! We headed about an hour away from our condo to a huge outlet mall, where surprisingly, Jimmy did way more shopping than I did! I walked away with a super cute pair of brown boots and a pair of jeans (only because there was a special at Lucky and Jimmy begged me!) and Jimmy got a few shirts, some new trendy kicks, and pair of jeans! Nice!! He was so excited.

On our way back home, we first stopped at a local bar that had wings and beer on special for happy hour...and loved devouring those.

The girls...

The boys. We always sat boys vs. girls. It was weird.

We were planning to hit up a few more happy hours, but instead stopped at Ross Dress for Less, which I wish was in KC and then my sister wanted to stop at Marshalls. Well guess what, there was a Best Buy right next door....and we went in there and walked out with one of these!!!!!!

Ok, ok. Not the most rational decision, but we have been talking about getting one for awhile because Jimmy calls me the computer hog when we are at home and he never gets to use it to browse the web and look at sports stuff. We got a lot more Christmas money as presents than expected---and with that final bit of persuasion, I gave him the go-ahead and yep....he's now hooked. Pretty sure he spent the rest of the trip playing Angry Birds....which I still don't get! Finally, we made it to Mandalay Bay, which became our favorite restaurant of the trip. Great staff, great food and fun music!!

The next day I made everyone pose for the standard 10 sec self timer picture. But we are cute, right?

Then it was off to this ADORABLE breakfast place! It was so good :)

Jimmy wasting our money for his "koozie collection" that he is apparently starting.

Next we set off to IKEA for the second and final shopping day. AHHHH I just love that place. We actually didn't buy anything (fell in love with stuff yes, exercised constraint...thank goodness), but got lots of fun ideas. And this time I picked up the English version of the catalog. Last time I visited in Dallas, I failed and picked up a Spanish version, so it made for a good picture book on the plane trip home :)

Since we got to do "girl" things the last day and a half, it was time for "boy" things, which is new for our family. So we went bowling and played couples against each other

And...unfortunately because I had to throw on bowling shoes, my secret was revealed! I was wearing capris under my boots.....AHHH! I couldn't believe my bad luck, but you know what, I went with it.

Andrew tried to make me feel better and rolled his up to. Too bad it didn't bring him any luck on the bowling game...

The boys- Jimmy was trying to teach Andrew his mad bowling skills...

ANND the family shot with our bowling balls!

Jimmy and Brittany won, so Lyndsay and Andrew had to buy drinks.

And at the end of the day....going to sleep looking at this was pretty great :)
