Kate Spade inspired bridal shower for my sister

Ok - so the time finally arrived for my sister's bridal shower.  I'm not sure where the time went from when I started planning it and coming up with fun ideas to the day actually being here!

My sister's wedding has some fun black and white with pretty pinks built in...so a little Kate Spade-ish, so I thought that a shower to match would be awesome, fun and easy to plan.  And guess what?  It was!  There is so much fun black and white striped things right now at Target, Hobby Lobby and even Party City that it made it so much easier to pick things up over the last few months and then throw it all together.

We had it at Falcon Ridge Golf course clubhouse, in which Jimmy's aunt was so sweet to "host" for us because it was the perfect venue.   It was so nice to not have to clean my house before hand and I loved all the tables and chairs how they were enough for everyone to sit down and enjoy their food, conversation, drinks and play games.

The other bridesmaids brought a lot of the food and the yummy mimosa recipe that was a hit (for those that could drink them!)

1 - Letters from Hobby Lobby and spray painted black, "&" sign and tassel banner from Target | 2 - plastic pink cups from Party City (love the Bride cup!) | 3 - Menu spread: Bacon Skewers, Mini Quiche, Fruit Salad in cups, mini cinnamon rolls, deviled eggs, cinnamon muffins, and delicious ham & cheese hot sandwiches (the awesome cinnamon bake was still in the oven | 4 - Dessert table; couldn't hang anything on the walls, so I quickly made this sign - love the wasabi tape that is striped that I pretty much used for everything!  I was suggesting #becomingtheburdens for a hastag - but the final one that was picked was #foreveraburden (which I think is awesome for many reasons!)

1 - Loved the tulips with the black table cloths (from Party City) | 2 - Used mason jars from WalMart, fresh tulips from Trader Joe's and wasabi taped some gold wrapping paper for centerpieces | 3 - Raspberry Lemonade and Red Velvet cupcakes from Cupcake Ala Mode | 4 - love these powdered doughnuts with rings in them! (runner from Party City)

1 - My beautiful sister and her awesome bow bouquet made by her bridesmaid after opening all her presents! | 2 - "Let Love Grow" favors - perfect way to kick off spring (I got these white pots from Amazon and decorated them with wasabi tape - told you I used for everything - and flowers from WalMart | 3 - Date Night jar - which was fun and easy and hopefully something they can use for some nights out together!!

My sister and her friends - and then all the folks over 30 at the shower!

Finally - my favorite picture of the day - the 3 original Bruns girls: mom and her girls!

I was literally SOOO exhausted by the end of all this setting up and partying, but it was so fun.  All the printables (including the customizable and downloaded invite) were from Magical Printable and they were fabulous!  I got the invites printed at Costco and just printed off the game...which was very fun to play and hear Casey's answers.  I love hearing about people's love stories - even if you are along for the ride (as obviously I have been as her sister)...but it's fun to learn all the details of their relationship and how they felt along the way.  They are such a great couple - and we already consider Casey to be "Uncle" Casey to our kiddos and can't wait to make it official!

It was a great morning celebrating the soon to be Mrs. Burden and can't believe the time is already hear for them to get married!!!  Next weekend we are off to Nashville to celebrate the bride to be!  June 4 will be here before we know it.

  1. What a great theme! And a great idea to use Falcon Ridge! I love your black dress! Is that the Amazon dress you posted about a few weeks ago?

    1. Yes! It is my Amazon dress! I was so happy to use it again :) I was contemplating taking it to Nashville this weekend - but it's going to be SO cold that I need to find a warmer outfit to wear out Saturday night.

  2. It all looks so great, and I love the theme!
I used to live fairly close to Falcon Ridge and ran by it quite often. Such a small world!
You and your sister looks so much alike! Pretty ladies.

    1. Seriously SUCH a small world. We live just down the road from Falcon Ridge - so just love the area. Would be so fun if you were still in KC :) And thanks! Surprisingly, we talk just alike, even more than we look alike - haha!
