A love filled 5 on Friday

It's Friday and it's not negative 10 degrees in Kansas City.  That's something to celebrate people.

And better yet, it's VALENTINE'S DAY!  My friend, Chesney's favorite holiday ever.  So happy Friday AND a happy Valentine's Day to you and your special someone!

#teamTeddy

Now I usually don't jump on the blogging bandwagon for just anything.  But let me tell you friends.  This isn't just "anything".  I first read about Teddy's story mid-January on Natasha's blog (www.schuelove.com) and I cried my eyes out.  I didn't even know how to react because this sweet little boy Teddy was around the same age as my sweet little baby Charlie.  Putting myself in those parents shoes for 5 minutes while I read there story literally broke my heart.  He was diagnosed with an incurable disease called Menkes disease, in which most patients diagnosed with this disease don't live past the age of three.  I cannot even type this without tearing up.  These parents.  What they must be feeling. The emotions, the anger, the sadness.  But they are trying to make an impact and educate others about this disease.  Because Mary, Teddy's mom, says on his caring bridge site (here) that his story is also about trusting your gut as a mother.  So I read this blog post this week from one of the girls, April that hosts this link up about taking a picture of you with #teamTeddy and spreading awareness of the disease and also trying to raise money for this sweet family.

So say a prayer.  For this sweet family and their sweet boy Teddy.  And for all the things you have to be thankful for in your life.  I for one say one every night for my health, my husband's health, our family's health and the health of my sweet Charlie and the sweet babe growing in my stomach.

Girls night with my mom and sister last night!!

We had a blast going to happy hour and then to see Bring it On musical at the Kauffmann Center.  I had never been there before and it's BEAUTIFUL!!!  Wow what a great addition to Kansas City - the architecture and city views are amazing!

The play was a little silly but the singing was great!

What do we do at night after work and school? A whole lot of hanging out.

Here was Charlie after wrestling with Jimmy and he was "talking to Elmo" from an app.  Seriously - toddlers and their technology these days.

Here Charlie and I hiding out in his tent downstairs.  He's so funny because now when he hides he puts one finger to his lips and goes "shhh" to be quiet.

I was getting ultra sentimental this week about all the wonderful things about this age and how much I love it.  Makes me want to participate next week in the "It's the Little Things" link up sponsored by this fun gal.  I have been reading all those posts and it's so fun.  We'll see if I can get on that.

Guess what I requested for Valentine's Day?  For Jimmy to paint the nursery.

Gray it is since we're going gender neutral on all the big stuff and just adding a little pink or blue when we find out what this little babe is!

Pretty excited!

So what are Charlie and I up to while Jimmy does the "honey-do" list?

Well - to start off with, I must say I'm loving the fact that it is finally-getting warmer and the snow in kc is finally starting to melt and the temperatures are getting warmer.  So pumped!! And the sun is shining

Beautiful sunrise on the way to work and we are road tripping to Oklahoma this weekend to visit the Ruddick family and cannot wait!!!!  Yeah for friends AND warmer weather!!

Can't wait to get some fun times with these girls...
